NBC Tweaks Premiere Schedule
'Life' gets Monday tryout, 'Kath & Kim' switches with '30 Rock'
The season premieres of "Deal or No Deal" and new unscripted show "America's Toughest Jobs" are also moving into August, debuting right after NBC's coverage of the Beijing Olympics. Both shows will premiere Monday, Aug. 25 and air for four weeks on Mondays before "Deal" moves to its regular Wednesday and Friday spots and "Toughest Jobs" goes to Fridays.
"Kath & Kim," a remake of the Australian hit that stars Molly Shannon and Selma Blair, will move to the 8:30 p.m. timeslot on Thursdays, rather than 9:30 as originally planned. It's switching places with "30 Rock," which will follow "The Office" when it premieres Oct. 30. (The late start will allow for three "Saturday Night Live" specials earlier in October.)
"Life," starring Damian Lewis as a formerly imprisoned LAPD detective, will get two weeks of double airings. It will follow "Heroes" on Monday, Sept. 29 and Oct. 6 in addition to airing in its normal 10 p.m. Friday spot. The Monday airings will in turn bump the premiere of the Christian Slater spy drama "My Own Worst Enemy" back to Monday, Oct. 13.
Finally, NBC has set a Sept. 16 premiere date for the new season of "The Biggest Loser," which will feature families slimming down together.
