NBC, Netflix Offer 'Heroes' Catch-up
Sneak peeks at 'Donnellys,' 'Raines' also on disc
To that end, the network is once again teaming up with Netflix to offer an NBC DVD that will contain a recap of the first 11 episodes of "Heroes" and a look at two of the net's midseason dramas, "The Black Donnellys" and "Raines." It's the second time this season NBC has offered previews of its shows through the DVD-by-mail service.
"We are delighted to again be working with Netflix on this special offer," says John Miller NBC's chief marketing officer. "We think the combination of an exclusive catch-up for audiences who have not yet discovered 'Heroes,' the pilot of 'The Black Donnellys,' as well as a preview of 'Raines,' will make a very attractive offering for Netflix subscribers."
The DVD will include the "Heroes" recap; a preview of "Raines," which stars Jeff Goldblum as an eccentric L.A. detective; and the first episode of "The Black Donnellys," a drama about four brothers from the "Crash" duo of Paul Haggis and Bobby Moresco. It will be available exclusively to Netflix subscribers through Jan. 15, when the content will go live on NBC's web site.
"Heroes" is the most-watched new series of the season, drawing about 15 million viewers per week. It's scheduled to return to NBC at 9 p.m. ET Monday, Jan. 22, with a one-hour "story so far" special preceding a new episode.
"The Black Donnellys" and "Raines" are both set for spring premieres.
