NBC Books Mark Valley in 'Business Class'

Peacock also finds 'Chuck,' 'Journeyman' leads

"Boston Legal" star Mark Valley is headed to NBC, signing on as one of two leads for the comedy "Business Class."

The network has also placed another "Legal" player, Jane Lynch, in its comedy "Area 52" and found stars for two of its dramas, the showbiz trade papers say. Zachary Levi ("Less Than Perfect") will play the title role in the Josh Schwartz pilot "Chuck," which has also added Adam Baldwin, and "Rome" star Kevin McKidd will star in the time-travel drama "Journeyman."

Valley, who plays Brad Chase on "Boston Legal," will play an amoral salesman in "Business Class," a comedy from "Simpsons" veterans Bill Oakley and Josh Weinstein. The show centers on Valley's character and a rival salesman who live their lives on the road.

His casting may not bode well for Brad's future on the ABC series; there's no word on which show is in "first position" for the former "Keen Eddie" star.

Lynch ("The 40 Year Old Virgin," "Talladega Nights"), meanwhile, has joined "Area 52," a comedy about employees at a secret government facility in the Arizona desert. Lynch had a recurring part on "Boston Legal" earlier this season.

On the drama side, Levi will star in "Chuck," from "The O.C." creator Schwartz and co-writer Chris Fedak. He'll play an otherwise nondescript IT guy who undertakes dangerous missions for the National Security Agency. Fanboy favorite Baldwin ("Firefly," "Day Break") will play a veteran NSA operative.

McKidd will play the lead role in "Journeyman," about a guy who travels back in time to help change the course of people's lives. The Scottish-born actor, who plays Lucius Vorenus in "Rome," co-stars in "Hannibal Rising"; his credits also include "Kingdom of Heaven" and "The Virgin Queen."
