Posey Does 'Legal' Work for ABC
Lucas, Peters guest on penultimate 'Will & Grace'
LOS ANGELES -- Two shows with reputations as guest-star magnets are loading up once more, with Parker Posey set to do an arc on "Boston Legal" and Josh Lucas and Bernadette Peters signing on to the next-to-last episode of "Will & Grace."Posey, who co-stars in the upcoming "Superman Returns," will play a lawyer named Marlene Stanger on three episodes of ABC's "Boston Legal" later this season (dates haven't been announced yet). Recently arrived from another firm, Marlene is dead-set on becoming a partner, so much so that she's earned the nickname "The Squid" -- as in, someone able to take out a shark.
It will be the first series work in several years for Posey, whose recent credits include "A Mighty Wind," "Blade: Trinity" and the USA movie "Frankenstein." She earned a Golden Globe nomination in 2003 for her work in the CBS movie "Hell on Heels: The Battle of Mary Kay."
She's also one of the many, many people who have guest-starred on "Will & Grace," which will add Lucas ("Glory Road," "Poseidon") and Tony winner Peters ("Pennies from Heaven," ABC's "Cinderella") to that list on May 11, a week before the series finale.
Peters will play Karen's (Megan Mullally) sister, who re-enters Karen's life after a long absence. Lucas, meanwhile, will offer comfort to Jack (Sean Hayes) after Jack's voice on a TV series is redubbed in favor of something "more manly."
