Zap2it Fall TV Preview 2006: New Lifestyle Shows

Zap2it Fall TV Preview 2006: New Lifestyle Shows: The Dick Cavett Show

Premieres: Sept. 7
Airs: Thursdays, 8 p.m.
Airs on: TCM

What’s It All About? Turner Classic Movies gets retro-hip with the first all-new episode of Dick Cavett’s legendary talk show in 10 years. Cavett interviews director Mel Brooks, the first time these two have been together onscreen since Brooks appeared on Cavett’s show in 1972. The interview is filmed in front of a live audience on a contemporized version of the original 1970s set (Cosmo Kramer would be excited!). Additionally, TCM has acquired rights to eight memorable episodes of The Dick Cavett Show, each one featuring an interview with a celebrated figure from the silver screen. These episodes, supplemented with new introductions by Cavett, are followed by movies from the interviewed guest. Classic episodes and guests include:

Sept. 14: Woody Allen (originally aired 10/20/71)
Sept. 21: Robert Mitchum (originally aired 4/29/71)
Sept. 28: Alfred Hitchcock (originally aired 6/8/72)
Oct. 5: Bette Davis (originally aired 11/17/71)
Oct. 12: Groucho Marx (originally aired 6/13/69)
Oct. 19: Katharine Hepburn: Part One (originally aired 9/14/73)
Oct. 26: Katharine Hepburn: Part Two (originally aired 9/14/73)
Nov. 2: Ingmar Bergman (originally aired 8/2/71)
