CBS' New Shows for the 2006-07 Season

CBS' New Shows for the 2006-07 Season: The Class
Comedy

Premise: Former elementary-school classmates who have lost touch are brought together 20 years later, and find out they have more in common than their third-grade teacher.

First Impressions: This was a pilot that ignited a bidding war between two networks, which CBS won by giving it a very early series commitment. To which we say: Hmm. Some of the characters definitely have potential, and we like the idea that the show may follow several stories at a given time. But it felt a little scattershot as it tried to introduce eight people and will need to find a focus pretty quickly.

Stars: Lucy Punch (Ella Enchanted, The 10th Kingdom), Jason Ritter (Joan of Arcadia), Sean Maguire (Eve), Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Andrea Anders (Joey), Lizzy Caplan (Related), Jon Bernthal (World Trade Center), Heather Goldenhersh (The School of Rock)

Studio: Warner Bros. TV

Producers: David Crane (Friends), Jeffrey Klarik (Half & Half, Mad About You), James Burrows (Will & Grace)
