My Network TV's New Shows for the 2006-07 Season

Premise: Two brothers who dream of owning a restaurant together are torn apart over their love for the same woman.

First Impressions: Love! Sex! Betrayal! Mafiosi! Xtra Cheez! These are the ingredients of "Desire: Table for Three," especially that last one. We get that the telenovela -- er, "short dramatic series," as MyNetwork execs are calling it -- has worked ridiculously well in other parts of the world (and in this country on Spanish-language TV). The production quality looks pretty good, but the setup and dialogue troll in some serious cliches -- too many to take five nights a week.
