NBC's New Shows for the 2006-07 Season

NBC's New Shows for the 2006-07 Season: Raines
Midseason Drama

Premise: An eccentric detective communicates with the dead victims in his cases.

First Impressions: Star Jeff Goldblum makes his typically quirky approach to characters work here, given the titular cops penchant for conversing with the deceased. Luis Guzman is a great foil for Goldblum, and theres a nice L.A. noir vibe to the piece as well. But we cant help wondering if there arent enough talking-to-dead-people shows on TV already.

Stars: Jeff Goldblum (Jurassic Park, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou), Matt Craven (Assault on Precinct 13), Nicole Sullivan (Hot Properties), Luis Guzman (Luis, Boogie Nights), Dov Davidoff, Linda Park (Star Trek: Enterprise)

Studio: NBC Universal TV

Producers: Graham Yost (Boomtown), Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption)
