Premise: In this spin-off of "Girlfriends," a woman is about to learn the realities of dating a pro football player, the glitz and the disadvantages.

First Impressions: It comes from the "Girlfriends" creative team and, like that show, revolves around a group of women, so you already know a fair amount about what you're going to get. Which is a little bit of broad humor, some occasionally sharp writing and characters who don't suffer fools easily. The pilot pulled decent ratings when it aired as an episode of "Girlfriends" in April, and paired with its parent show next season there's no reason to think they won't be compatible.
