Ambrose Joins FOX's Sherman-Palladino Pilot
Parker, Hopkins, Stevenson join CBS pilots
"Six Feet Under" Emmy nominee Lauren Ambrose will star opposite Parker Posey in FOX's pilot "The Return of Jezebel James."The multicamera comedy comes from "Gilmore Girls" creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and stars Posey as a successful children's book editor who's forced to ask her estranged younger sister (Ambrose) to carry a child for her when she discovers she can't conceive.
Scott Cohen ("Gilmore Girls") was previously cast in the pilot.
In addition to her run on "Six Feet Under," Ambrose's credits include the features "Psycho Beach Party," "Swimming" and "Diggers."
In other casting news, Molly Parker and Josh Hopkins have joined the cast of CBS' ensemble "Swingtown," about '70s suburban partner swapping. Parker will play a housewife with teenage kids, according to The Hollywood Reporter, while Hopkins will play an ex-jock.
Parker was most recently seen on HBO's "Deadwood," while the busy Hopkins has had turns on "Pepper Dennis," "Vanished" and "Brothers & Sisters" in the past year.
Also at CBS, "Rome" star Ray Stevenson will play a detective in CBS' supernatural drama "Babylon Fields," about a town in which the dead keep coming back to life. Amber Tamblyn is also attached to the show.
