Surprise! '30 Rock,' 'Mad Men' Nominated for Awards
Trophy-laden shows earn latest kudos from Producers Guild
"Mad Men" and "30 Rock" each picked up yet another award nomination this week, adding nods from the Producers Guild of America to their Golden Globe nominations. The two shows -- the reigning Emmy winners for best drama and best comedy series -- are up for the Producers Guild's 20th annual awards. NBC's "30 Rock" also won the award for episodic comedy last year, while it's the first time in the mix for AMC's breakthrough drama.
The PGA Awards honor the producing teams behind TV series and movies, feature films and documentaries. The guild is a professional organization and not affiliated with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, the studio confederation that's currently at odds with actors over a new contract.
