TV Ratings: 'CSI: NY' Helps CBS Control Wednesday
'Criminal Minds' also score for CBS
Fast National ratings for Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008.A milestone episode of "CSI: NY" helped push CBS to an easy ratings win on Wednesday night.
Overall, CBS averaged an 8.2 rating/13 share, far better than the 5.2/8 for FOX in second. ABC and NBC tied for third with a 4.0/6, while The CW occupied its normal fifth place spot with a 2.4/4.
CBS also won among adults 18-49, doing a 3.5 rating in the key demographic. FOX stayed second with a 2.6 rating, giving ABC third place alone with a 2.0 rating. NBC's 1.8 rating took fourth, nipping the 1.7 rating for The CW.
FOX started the night in first place with a 6.6/11 for "Bones." CBS' comedies "The New Adventures of Old Christine" and "Gary Unmarried" did a 5.2/8 for the hour. NBC's "Knight Rider" was third, nipping the 3.2/5 for the season finale of "America's Next Top Model" and the 3.1/5 for ABC's "Pushing Daisies."
CBS moved into first in the 9 p.m. hour with a 10.3/16 for "Criminal Minds." ABC took second with a 5.0/8 for "Private Practice." FOX was third with a "House Repeat," which beat the 3.5/5 for "Life" on NBC. The CW's "Sylista" squandered its lead-in with a 1.5/2.
In the 10 p.m. hour, "CSI: NY" delivered a 9.2/16, to easily beat the 5.2/9 for "Law & Order" on NBC. ABC's "Dirty Sexy Money" trailed with a 3.9/7.
