Showtime Grows a Fourth Season of 'Weeds'
Mary-Louise Parker would return in new episodes next summer
According to The Hollywood Reporter, a new season of the Mary-Louise Parker series would go into production in April (various strikes pending) and would premiere next summer.
The show's current third season featured an expanded roster of 15 episodes, but the new run is expected to only be the standard 13. The show's ratings for this season have been up by 19 percent over last year, though Showtime isn't comfortable giving out hard numbers. "Weeds" has been part of Showtime's Monday night comedy hour with the already-renewed "Californication" this fall.
Parker won a Golden Globe in 2006 for her performance as suburban pot-dealing mom Nancy Botwin. The show's five Emmy nominations this year included nods for Parker and co-star Elizabeth Perkins.
The season finale is scheduled for Nov. 19.
