'CSI' Adds a New Investigator
Lauren Lee Smith joins the cast as a regular in the fall
With Jorja Fox's Sara long-departed and Gary Dourdan's Warrick last seen in some rather serious jeopardy, "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" has moved quickly to add a new regular cast member for next season.CBS announced Friday (May 16) that Lauren Lee Smith will join the "CSI" cast next season.
Smith will play CSI Bryce Adams, described as "a smart, flirtatious, and witty non-conformist who entered law enforcement to rebel against her judgmental psychiatrist father. She has always been fascinated by the perverse underbelly of society and cannot be shocked or intimidated."
The casting release adds that she will join Grissom's nigh shift team.
Smith's addition to the highly rated CBS drama comes just days after the network opted not to pick up her drama pilot "Can Openers," about doctors in a neurosurgery residency.
The Canadian actress was most recently seen in the thriller "Pathology." Her other feature credits include "The Last Kiss" and "Lie with Me," while she co-starred on the small screen in "The L-Word."
