Think of it as Broadus-casting

E! has committed to a new half-hour reality show based around the life of Calvin Broadus, Jr., better known as Scoop Dogg.

The rapper, movie star, football coach and hockey fan formerly known as Snoop Doggy Dogg will give E! access to his life.

"Snoop Dogg is, without a doubt, one of the most charismatic and intriguing personalities in pop culture today," says Ted Harbert, president & CEO, Comcast Entertainment Group. "While he has captured a legion of fans as the king of hip hop, what makes Snoop most interesting is the side of him that people have never seen. The juggling act that Snoop faces day-in, day-out between career and family is certain to resonate with our viewers."

In addition to his eight platinum albums, series of films, XM radio show and myriad of other entertainment ventures, Snoop is also raising a trio of children with wife Shante and working as coach to 2,500 kids in the Snoop Youth Football League. He's also working on a Snoop Dogg line of pet products.

E! hopes to have the Snoop Dogg reality series ready to premiere in late 2007.
