For "Stargate" fans who have yet to watch the franchise's straight-to-DVD releases, you'll get another chance to prove your love.

Sci Fi Channel has acquired the U.S. television rights to "Stargate: The Ark of Truth" and "Stargate: Continuum," both of which previously have only seen a DVD release. Both films will make their U.S. TV debuts in Spring 2009.

"Ark of Truth" picks up after the "Stargate: SG-1" series finale and follows the crew fighting two powerful enemies in their attempts to obtain the ancient weapon that could defeat the sinister Ori force.

"Continuum" is an action-adventure film in which Ba'al (Cliff Simon) travels back in time and tries to prevent the Stargate program from ever starting. Naturally, the SG-1 team has something to say about that, so they're tasked with restoring history and saving the galaxy from oppression ... again.

The "Stargate" sci fi franchise began with the 1994 feature film of the same name and began its TV run with "Stargate: SG-1." "Stargate: Atlantis" sput off from "SG-1" in 2004 and will be ending its five-season run in January. It too will get a movie follow-up, which will be aired on the Sci Fi Network and then released to DVD.

A third "Stargate" series, "Universe," will premiere next summer.
