LOS ANGELES -- It remains to be seen if the 13th edition of " The Bachelor," but the show is helping to level the playing field for bachelor Jason Mesnick by including four potential mates who understand his single parenthood status.

In addition to 21 footloose and fancy-free women ranging in age from 23 to 36, Mesnick -- who has a son, Tyler, himself -- will get to spend time with the following single mothers:

Megan (25): A lacrosse coach from Sewickley, PA with a one-year-old son

Stacia ( 24): A charity accountatn from Orem, UT with a five-year-old son and three-year-old daughter

Treasure (28): A nurse practitioner from Salt Lake City, UT with a six-year-old daughter

Stephanie (34): A widowed medical marketing rep from Huntsville, AL with a four-year-old daughter

Mesnick, 32, is an estate and legacy planning account executive from Seattle who was one of the final two men standing during the last season of "The Bachelorette." DeAnna Pappas ultimately chose pro-snowboarder Jesse Csincsak as her one true love, only to break things off with him early last month.

Promised highlights from the show's two-hour premiere include school teacher Sharon who quit her job to be on the show, jewelry designer Renee who's mapped out her and Jason's future on a "vision board" and interior designer Jillian who thinks she can discover all she needs to by finding out what condiments Jason likes on his hot dogs.

"The Bachelor" premieres on Monday, Jan. 5 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
