DeAnna Pappas will star in new season of series

ABC has found its next "Bachelorette," and as with previous editions of the show the network didn't have to look farther than a recent season of "The Bachelor."

DeAnna Pappas, last seen not receiving the final rose from Brad Womack on last fall's "Bachelor," will star in the fourth season of "The Bachelorette," which is scheduled to air in the summer. The 26-year-old was one of the final two women, along with Jenni Croft, on the 11th "Bachelor," but Womack decided he just wasn't that into either one, leading to the first no-final-rose outcome in the show's history (although the most recent Bachelorette, Jen Schefft, did the same thing in 2005).

In the November finale, Pappas told Womack she was in love with him. Womack said she was everything he was looking for in a woman, but he didn't feel right proposing to her, leading to their parting. "Do you know how much I care about you?" He asked at one point, to which she replied, "No, I don't."

Now Pappas, a real estate agent who lives in Neunan, Ga., will get to take another run at TV-arranged romance, choosing from 25 guys who all, presumably, want to be with her. ABC is looking for candidates; those who are interested can find applications at thebachelor.tv.

Despite its advancing age, "The Bachelor" still draws recent ratings for ABC. The most recent edition averaged 9.7 million viewers per week. It also earned a 3.7 rating in the key adults 18-49 demographic, which puts it among the top 40 shows for the season.
