Character Death in Season Two of 'Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles'
EP says one of the seven main characters will die
Someone in the cast of " Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" is going to die this upcoming season."One of the people you see before you, and it's not James [Middleton], is going to die this season," executive producer John Wirth announces to a shocked Comic-Con crowd and a sputtering, stunned panel of actors on Saturday.
So that means the clock is ticking for one of the following: Lena Headey, Thomas Dekker, Summer Glau, Brian Austin Green, Garret Dillahunt, Richard T. Jones or Shirley Manson. For the rest of the session, the actors continue to joke about their imminent demise.
After that dramatic bit of news, Wirth reveals that we'll be seeing a different John Connor, personality-wise, in the upcoming season.
Dekker is relieved and acknowledges that he intentionally wanted John to be meek in the first season in order to show change as his character comes to terms with not having a normal life. But this coming season, Dekker admits, "[John]'s not very nice, I don't think, anymore."
Also, the relationship between John and Sarah will break down.
"This season, their family, this core band is starting to crumble," reveals Middleton. "Fissures are developing ... We'll see a lot more of what that stress does to a woman, a warrrior and a mom ... At the same time, Skynet is evolving."
Headey, who gets on very well with Dekker, is sad that she will work with him less this season, but says, "It had to happen. John Connor has to grow up and escape his mother's overbearing [ways]."
Other highlights/tidbits:
- Richard T. Jones jokes about why he decided to play Agent Ellison black: "I was tempted to play it white. I called my friend Robert Downey, Jr. The surgery sounded interesting, so I did the surgery and it changed my life."
- What would Sarah do on her day off? According to Headey, she'd take a valium, call up Agent Ellison and have a "good night in."
- Dekker would love to direct an episode of the show
- Shirley Manson will not be singing on the show or soundtrack for the show.
