Super Bowl 'Minds' Profiles Van Der Beek
'Dawson's Creek' star will play a 'troubled young man'
CBS gave "Criminal Minds" its coveted post-Super Bowl slot and the drama will, in turn, give viewers James van der Beek. Also lending marginal star wattage are CBS Sports announcers Jim Nantz and Phil Simms.
The episode, written by series executive producer Edward Allen Bernero, finds the BAU team investigating the murder of a wealthy couple, killed in the aftermath of a Super Bowl party. Things are complicated by a bible-spouting 911 call prior to the murder and the crime's subsequent posting on the Internet.
Van der Beek, eternally known as earnest aspiring filmmaker Dawson from the occasionally popular WB drama, will play a character described only as "a trouble young man."
The 29-year-old actor's big screen credits include image-tweaking roles in "The Rules of Attraction" and "Standing Still."
