Wade Allain Marcus will join the cast as a recurring character

Chuck Bass, Nate, Dan and Lord Marcus are going to have a little competition for their various ladies' affections.

The CW's Monday night hit " Gossip Girl" is adding Wade Allain Marcus into the melodrama mix, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Marcus will play the recurring character Max, a good-looking yet scheming 19-year-old "hipster photographer" who moves in the New York fashion and art circles. No doubt he will become important to little Jenny Humphrey, who has aspirations to be a designer.

Marcus appeared as Ricky in MTV's musical telepic "American Mall" and next appears in "Brooklyn's Finest," which stars Richard Gere, Don Cheadle, Wesley Snipes and Ethan Hawke.
