'Practice,' 'Quintuplets' Stars Land FOX Pilot Leads
Kelli Williams joins 'Lie to Me,' while Sarah Wright will co-star in 'The Emancipation of Ernesto'
Kelli Williams and Sarah Wright have booked roles in FOX pilots.According to The Hollywood Reporter, Williams will play the female lead in "Lie to Me," a 20th Century Fox TV and Imagine production that will mark Tim Roth's debut as an American series regular.
Roth plays Cal Lightman, an expert and researcher in the field of "deception detection." The trade says Williams will play Dr. Gillian Foster, Lightman's colleague.
Also cast in the pilot are Brendan Hines and Monica Raymund.
Williams is best known for her run on ABC's Emmy-winning "The Practice." Her subsequent series credits have included "Medical Investigation" on NBC and an arc on ABC's "Men in Trees."
On the FOX comedy side, Wright will join Wilmer Valderrama in "The Emancipation of Ernesto."
Valderrama plays the title character ("Ernest," not "Emancipation"), an innocent young man searching for his father amidst the excess of contemporary Los Angeles.
The trade paper says Wright will play Madizon, a wealthy heiress and Ernesto's childhood friend. In other casting, Angela Sarafyan ("In Plain Sight") will play Madizon's roommate.
Wright is a FOX favorite, having co-starred in "Quintuplets" and "The Loop." Already seen this summer in "Made of Honor," Wright has "The House Bunny" opening later this month.
