'Numb3rs' leads Eye to top spot

Fast National ratings for Friday, Oct. 5, 2007

A fairly quiet night in the ratings Friday ended with CBS at the top of the heap.

For the night, CBS averaged a 5.7 rating/10 share. NBC, 4.9/9, came in second, followed by ABC at 3.8/7. FOX drew a 2.7/5 and The CW a 2.5/4.

In the adults 18-49 demographic, CBS led with a 2.4 rating. NBC took second at 2.1. ABC, 1.8, was third, and FOX and The CW tied at 1.4.

"Ghost Whisperer" scored a 5.6/10 for CBS at 8 p.m., edging the 5.5/10 for NBC's "Deal or No Deal." FOX got a 3.2/6 from "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?," beating out a "Pushing Daisies" rerun on ABC. "Friday Night Smackdown!" drew a 2.2/4 for The CW.

CBS stayed on top at 9 p.m. with "Moonlight," 5.4/10. The season premiere of "Friday Night Lights" scored a 4.2/7 for NBC, in line with its performance from last season. ABC's "Private Practice" repeat, 3.4/6, finished third, ahead of the second hour of "Smackdown!," 2.7/5, on The CW. FOX went with a "K-Ville" rerun.

"Numb3rs," 6.2/11, grabbed the night's best rating for CBS at 10 p.m. ABC's "20/20," 5.1/9, took second in households, although NBC's "Las Vegas," 5.0/9, had an edge in total viewers.
