TV Ratings: CBS' 'Numb3rs' Still Add up Friday
Once again, 'Ghost Whisperer' took the top ratings for the night
Fast National ratings for Friday, Oct. 24, 2008It was another good Friday for CBS, which won the ratings war for the night with its solid dramas.
CBS averaged a 5.3 rating/9 share for the night, ahead of second and third place finishers ABC, 3.8/7, and NBC, 3.7/7, followed by FOX, 3.5/6, and The CW, 1.0/2.
The adults 18-49 demo battle told a similar story, with CBS landing a 2.1 rating. ABC once again took second with a 1.7, beating out NBC and FOX, both of which got a 1.4 apiece. The CW only managed a 0.6.
"Ghost Whisperer," 6.2/11, nabbed the best numbers for the night at 8 p.m. for CBS, while NBC's "Deal or No Deal" took in a respectable 3.9/7. FOX landed third in the hour with "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?," 3.5/6, followed by ABC's "Wife Swap," 2.8/5. The CW averaged 1.1/2 with "Everybody Hates Chris" and "The Game."
CBS barely stayed on top with "The Ex List," 3.7/6, in the 9 o'clock hour, edging out NBC's "Crusoe," 3.6/6. ABC's "Super Nanny" and FOX's "Don't Forget the Lyrics" tied for third with a 3.4/6 each. The CW aired an "America's Next Top Model" repeat.
CBS complete its hat trick for the night at 10 p.m. with "Numb3rs" earning a 5.8/10. ABC got a 5.0/9 from "20/20," while "Life" earned a 3.5/6 for NBC.
