CBS Gets Post-Super Bowl Bounce Monday
'Rules of Engagement' tops 'Heroes,' '24' in viewers
Fast National ratings for Monday, Feb. 5, 2007All that network promotion CBS did during the Super Bowl paid off Monday in the form of an across-the-board ratings win.
CBS, which got a solid premiere from new comedy "Rules of Engagement," averaged a 9.6 rating/15 share for the night. NBC finished second at 8.0/12. FOX, 7.0/10, came in third, beating out ABC's 5.4/8. The CW drew a 1.9/3.
The adults 18-49 race was closer, but CBS still came out on top with a 5.0 rating. NBC was a close second at 4.8, with FOX right behind in third at 4.6. ABC averaged 3.3 and The CW 1.2.
"Deal or No Deal," 10.6/15, won the 8 p.m. hour for NBC. Football-themed episodes of "How I Met Your Mother," 6.9/10, and "The Class," 6.2/9, put CBS in second, ahead of FOX's "Prison Break," 6.0/9. ABC was fourth with "Wife Swap." The CW pulled down a 2.0/3 with "Everybody Hates Chris" and "All of Us."
"Two and a Half Men," 11.3/16, and the "Rules of Engagement" premiere, 9.8/14, moved CBS into the lead at 9 p.m. NBC's "Heroes," 8.6/12, beat out FOX's "24," 8.1/12, for second ("Heroes" also won the hour in adults 18-49). "Supernanny" delivered a 6.3/9 for ABC, while The CW went with "Girlfriends" and "The Game."
At 10 p.m., CBS' "CSI: Miami" drew the night's biggest audience with an 11.8/19, leaving NBC's "Studio 60," 4.6/7, and ABC's special "In Style Celebrity Weddings," 4.4/7, in the dust.
