FOX Racks Up Another Wednesday Win
New timeslots don't help 'Race,' 'Heist'
FOX coasted to its usual spot at the top of the ratings Wednesday night, leaving the rest of the Big Four networks to slug it out for second.
For the night, FOX drew a 9.3 rating/15 share. NBC took second with a 6.8/11, edging ABC, 6.4/10, and CBS, 6.3/10. UPN grabbed fifth with a 2.6/4, beating The WB's 1.6/2.
FOX also had a healthy lead among adults 18-49, where it averaged a 5.9 rating. ABC's 4.1 was good for second. NBC earned a 3.2 in the advertisers' favorite demographic to nose past CBS, 3.1. UPN averaged 1.8 and The WB 1.0.
"Deal or No Deal" put NBC in the lead at 8 p.m. with an 8.8/15. "Bones" was second for FOX at 6.6/11. "The Amazing Race" scuffled in its new time period, managing only a 5.0/8 for CBS. "George Lopez" and "Freddie" were fourth for ABC. UPN got at 3.3/5 from "America's Next Top Model." The WB trailed with "One Tree Hill."
FOX took over the top spot at 9 p.m. with the "Idol" results, 15.3/23, and "Unan1mous," 8.5/13. ABC jumped up to second with "Lost," 9.5/14. A "Criminal Minds" rerun was third for CBS, while "Heist," 4.3/7, suffered a small hit for NBC opposite stiffer competition. UPN stayed in fifth with "Veronica Mars," which beat "The Bedford Diaries" on The WB.
A "CSI: NY" repeat posted a 7.6/13 for CBS at 10 p.m. "Law & Order" returned to its usual home and delivered a 7.2/12, up from its two weeks at 9 p.m. "The Evidence" (with an assist from "Lost," which ended a couple minutes after the hour) scored a 5.6/9 for ABC.
