'The Office' Works a Demo Win for NBC
CBS tops Thursday's overall ratings, but NBC takes 18-49 crown
Fast National ratings for Thursday, April 17, 2008"Survivor" and drama repeats were enough to give CBS an overall ratings win Thursday, but NBC led the demographic pack thanks to "The Office."
CBS averaged a 7.0 rating/12 share for the night, beating out FOX's 5.7/10. NBC finished third overall with a 4.9/8. ABC, 3.3/6, came in fourth, and The CW trailed with a 1.8/3.
NBC topped the adults 18-49 demographic for the first time in a good while, drawing a 3.4 rating. CBS, 3.0, came in second, followed by FOX at 2.8. ABC averaged 1.5 and The CW 1.1.
"Survivor: Micronesia - Fans vs. Favorites," 7.4/13, won the 8 p.m. hour for CBS. "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?" drew a 5.6/10 for FOX. NBC took third with "My Name Is Earl," 4.3/8, and "30 Rock," 4.1/7. A "Lost" repeat on ABC edged a new "Smallville," 2.3/4, on The CW for fourth.
CBS held the lead at 9 p.m. with a "CSI" repeat, 7.1/11. "Don't Forget the Lyrics," 5.9/9, kept FOX in second. "The Office," 5.8/9, and "Scrubs," 4.5/7, put NBC in third overall but led the hour in adults 18-49. Another hour of "Lost" earned a 3.0/5 for ABC. The CW aired a "Supernatural" rerun.
At 10 p.m., CBS' "Without a Trace" rerun posted a 6.5/11. "ER" scored a 5.3/9 for NBC, and the season finale of "Eli Stone" on ABC earned a 4.2/7.
