'Bachelor' finale, 'Dancing' lead to win
Fast National ratings for Monday, May 21, 2007The final performances of "Dancing with the Stars" and the final rose on "The Bachelor" gave ABC a ratings win Monday night.
ABC averaged a 10.2 rating/17 share in primetime, outpacing the other networks by a healthy margin. CBS finished second in households at 7.1/11, but NBC, 6.7/11, had a small edge in viewers (10.7 million to 10.6 million). FOX, 6.1/10, was fourth, and The CW trailed with a 1.3/2.
The Alphabet also grabbed a win among adults 18-49, earning a 4.9 rating in the advertisers' favorite demographic. NBC took second with a 4.1, beating FOX's 3.8 and CBS' 3.3. The CW managed only a 0.7.
"Dancing with the Stars" drew the night's biggest audience, 13.1/22, for ABC at 8 p.m. "Deal or No Deal," 6.3/10, put NBC in second. The first half of the "24" season finale earned a 5.7/9 for FOX. A pair of "Two and a Half Men" repeats came in fourth for CBS. The CW averaged 1.3/2 with reruns of "Everybody Hates Chris" and "All of Us."
ABC held onto the lead in households at 9 p.m. with "The Bachelor," 8.5/13, while another hour of CBS' "Men" scored an 8.1/12. NBC's "Heroes" season finale (7.8/12), however, led the hour in total viewers and adults 18-49. FOX improved to 6.6/10 with the conclusion of "24." Repeats of "Girlfriends" and "The Game" closed the night for The CW.
At 10 p.m., "The Bachelor" surged to 9.0/15 as Andy Baldwin proposed to his chosen woman Tessa. A "CSI: Miami" rerun posted a 7.6/12 for CBS, and "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" came in at 6.1/10 for NBC.
