FOX, NBC Battle It Out Tuesday
'Singing Bee' tops All-Star Game in 18-49
The assemblage of major league talent on FOX Tuesday night ran neck-and-neck with the "Talent" on NBC, while "The Singing Bee" also got off to a strong start.
FOX won the overall ratings race with a 7.4 rating/13 share in primetime (those numbers may change some due to its live sports telecast). NBC was right behind at 6.9/12. CBS, 4.6/8, came in third. ABC finished fourth at 3.6/6, and The CW trailed at 1.0/2.
In the adults 18-49 demographic, the two top spots were reversed. NBC led with a 3.7 rating, beating out FOX's 3.5. CBS finished third at 2.1, followed by ABC, 1.8, and The CW, 0.5.
Baseball's All-Star Game scored a 7.0/12 for FOX at 8 p.m. "America's Got Talent" on NBC and "NCIS" on CBS tied for second in households at 6.4/11, with NBC drawing more viewers. An hour of "According to Jim" put ABC in fourth. A "Gilmore Girls" rerun on The CW drew a 1.0/2.
NBC took the lead at 9 p.m. with "America's Got Talent," 8.3/14, and the premiere of "The Singing Bee," which posted an 8.0/13 overall and built on its lead-in's 18-49 numbers. The All-Star Game improved to 7.9/13 on FOX. "Big Brother," 4.5/7, was third for CBS, while "Shaq's Big Challenge" earned a 2.9/5 for ABC. The CW held steady with "Veronica Mars."
At 10 p.m., "Law & Order: SVU" posted a 6.0/10 for NBC. "Primetime: Family Secrets" averaged 5.0/9 for ABC, while CBS' "Pirate Master" delivered a 3.0/5. Ratings for the All-Star Game were unavailable.
