FOX Hits Ratings Homer Tuesday
Baseball's All-Star Game rules night
Fast National ratings for Tuesday, July 15, 2008One of the longest All-Star games in baseball history gave FOX a resounding ratings victory Tuesday night.
FOX averaged an 8.8 rating/15 share in primetime, easily beating NBC's 5.8/10. CBS finished third in households at 4.4/8, although ABC, 4.3/7, had more total viewers. The CW was way back at 0.9/1.
In the adults 18-49 demographic, FOX's 4.2 rating led the field by a wide margin. ABC came in second at 2.7, followed by NBC at 2.2. CBS averaged 1.6 and The CW 0.5.
Major league baseball's All-Star Game scored an 8.0/14 for FOX at 8 p.m. "NCIS," 5.3/9, finished second in households for CBS but trailed both ABC's "Wipeout," and NBC's "Celebrity Family Feud," both of which averaged 5.0/9, in total viewers. The CW went with a "Beauty and the Geek" rerun.
The All-Star Game improved to 9.7/16 at 9 p.m. NBC moved into second with "America's Got Talent," 7.8/13. "Big Brother" scored a 4.1/7 for CBS, beating out "I Survived a Japanese Game Show" on ABC. A "Reaper" repeat drew a 1.0/2 for The CW.
Ratings for the All-Star Game in the 10 p.m. hour weren't available. ABC's "Primetime: Family Secrets" led the other networks with a 4.6/8, topping the 4.4/8 for "Law & Order: SVU" on NBC. CBS got a 3.8/6 from a "Without a Trace" rerun.
