'House' Calls Good for FOX Tuesday
ABC's 'The One' fizzles in premiere
FOX rode to a Tuesday ratings victory on the back of "House," while ABC's new show "The One" wasn't, scoring only meager ratings for its premiere.
For the night, FOX averaged a 5.5 rating/9 share. NBC and CBS tied for second at 4.4/8, with NBC holding a small edge in total viewers. ABC took fourth with a 2.7/5. The WB was fifth at 1.2/2, and UPN trailed with a miniscule 0.9/2.
FOX also led among adults 18-49 with a 2.8 rating. CBS finished second in the demographic with a 2.6, narrowly beating NBC's 2.5. ABC earned only a 1.2, but that was good enough to beat The WB and UPN, both of which fell below 1.0.
The first of two "House" episodes posted a 4.9/9 for FOX at 8 p.m. CBS was second for the hour with "Big Brother: All-Stars," 4.6/8. "According to Jim" and "George Lopez" averaged 3.5/6 for ABC, topping NBC's "Fear Factor," 3.2/6. A "Gilmore Girls" rerun on The WB beat out UPN's "Veronica Mars."
FOX improved to 6.2/10 at 9 p.m. with another "House." NBC moved up to second with "Last Comic Standing," 5.0/9, dropping CBS and "Rock Star: Supernova," 4.3/7, to third. ABC scuffled with the debut of "The One: Making a Music Star," which delivered only a 2.3/4. The WB stayed in fifth with a second "Gilmore Girls," beating UPN's "Veronica Mars" again.
At 10 p.m., "Law & Order: SVU" scored a 5.3/9 for NBC to beat CBS' "48 Hours Mystery," 5.0/9. "The One" held steady at 2.3/4.
