'Dateline' Leads Slow Sunday
NBC scores narrow win; ABC's 'Picture' underexposed
A pair of newsmagazines bookended Sunday's prime-time schedule with the night's best ratings, with NBC and "Dateline" coming out on top.
NBC averaged a 4.0 rating/7 share in primetime, narrowly beating CBS' 3.9/7. ABC took third with a 2.7/5. FOX, 1.8/3, finished fourth, and The CW trailed with a 0.7/1.
The Peacock also led among adults 18-49 with a 1.5 rating. CBS was right behind at 1.4, followed by ABC, 1.3, and FOX, 1.2. The CW managed only a 0.3.
CBS grabbed the lead at 7 p.m. with "60 Minutes," 5.5/11. An "America's Funniest Home Videos" rerun drew a 3.2/7 for ABC. "Most Outrageous Moments" drew a 2.0/4 for NBC, beating out a pair of "'Til Death" reruns on FOX. The CW went with a "One Tree Hill" rerun.
"Big Brother 10," 3.8/7, kept CBS in the lead at 8 p.m. NBC moved up to second with a repeat of "America's Got Talent," 3.3/6. The premiere of "High School Musical: Get in the Picture" failed to capture the "HSM" magic and posted only a 2.4/4. "The Simpsons" and "King of the Hill" averaged 2.2/4 for FOX, beating "Everybody Hates Chris" and "Aliens in America" on The CW.
At 9 p.m., the first half of a two-hour "Dateline" scored a 4.9/8 for NBC. CBS fell one spot to second with "Cold Case," 3.4/6. "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" posted a 3.0/5 for ABC, edging FOX's "Family Guy," 2.9/5, and "American Dad," 2.6/4. "The Game" and "Girlfriends" finished The CW's night.
"Dateline" improved to 5.7/10 at 10 p.m. A "CSI: NY" rerun scored a 2.8/5 for CBS, and "Desperate Housewives" earned a 2.0/4 for ABC.
