Fast National ratings for Thursday, Aug. 7, 2008

Summer finales on FOX and NBC led Thursday night's ratings, with FOX's dancers outdrawing NBC's comedians to win the fight.

FOX averaged a 6.1 rating/11 share in primetime to lead the night by a comfortable margin. CBS finished second in households at 4.6/8, but NBC, 4.5/8, had more total viewers. ABC, 3.2/6, came in fourth, and The CW trailed with a 1.2/2.

FOX also led among adults 18-49 with a 3.4 rating. NBC took second in the demographic with a 2.3. CBS, 1.9, came in third, followed by ABC, 1.4, and The CW, 0.7.

The finale of " So You Think You Can Dance" drew a 5.5/10 for FOX at 8 p.m. "Big Brother 10," 4.1/7, put CBS in second, ahead of the "Last Comic Standing" finale (3.5/6) on NBC. An " Ugly Betty" rerun on ABC earned a 2.9/5. The CW aired a "Smallville" rerun.

"So You Think You Can Dance" improved to 6.7/11 at 9 p.m. as Joshua Allen was crowned this year's winner. CBS grabbed second in households with "CSI," 4.7/8, but NBC had a few more viewers with "Last Comic Standing," 4.0/7, and "America's Got Talent," 4.9/8. " Grey's Anatomy" kept ABC in fourth, while "Supernatural" drew a 1.2/2 for The CW.

"America's Got Talent" scored a 5.6/10 for NBC at 10 p.m. "Flashpoint" posted a 4.9/9 for CBS, and "Hopkins" came in at 3.8/7 for ABC.
