Game show, 'Big Brother' top night

Fast National ratings for Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2007

Led by a strong showing from its game show "Power of 10," CBS powered its way to a ratings win Tuesday night.

CBS averaged a 5.6 rating/9 share in primetime, winning the evening by a fairly healthy margin. The rest of the Big Four were tightly bunched, with FOX, 4.3/7, taking second place over NBC, 4.0/7, and ABC, 3.8/6. The CW trailed with a 1.0/2.

The Eye also led among adults 18-49, drawing a 2.7 rating in the demographic. FOX and NBC tied for second at 2.0. ABC earned a 1.8, and The CW fell short of the 1.0 mark.

"Power of 10" grabbed the night's biggest audience at 8 p.m., earning a 6.3/11. An hour of "Just for Laughs," 4.5/8, put ABC in second. NBC took third with a repeat of the documentary "Live From New York: The First Five Years of Saturday Night Live." A "Bones" rerun on FOX drew a 3.5/6, while "Gilmore Girls" posted a 1.1/2 for The CW.

CBS' "Big Brother" and FOX's "House" tied for first in households at 9 p.m. at 5.2/8, with CBS drawing a few more viewers. "Live From New York," 4.3/7, was third for NBC. ABC's "i-Caught" delivered a 3.4/5. The CW finished its night with a "Beauty and the Geek" repeat.

An "NCIS" rerun kept CBS on top at 10 p.m. with a 5.2/9. NBC's "Law & Order: SVU," 3.9/7, beat out ABC's "Primetime: Crime," 3.6/6, for second.
