CBS Tops Tight Tuesday Field
'Biggest Loser' a demo winner for NBC
"The Biggest Loser" had an OK premiere for NBC Tuesday night, but CBS still grabbed the biggest piece of the overall ratings pie.
CBS averaged a 5.2 rating/9 share in primetime to carry the night. NBC was not far behind at 4.8/8, and FOX took third with a 4.6/8. ABC, 3.6/6, came in fourth, and The CW was well off the pace at 1.0/2.
In the adults 18-49 demographic, NBC led with a 2.8 rating. CBS grabbed second with a 2.2, followed closely by FOX at 2.1. ABC averaged 1.7 and The CW fell short of the 1.0 mark.
"Power of 10," 4.8/8, won the 8 p.m. hour for CBS. The fourth-season premiere of "The Biggest Loser" earned a 4.5/8 for NBC to take second in households, but ABC had a few more viewers with "Just for Laughs." A "Bones" repeat on FOX came in fourth, while The CW took fifth with "Gilmore Girls."
"The Biggest Loser" improved to 5.5/9 at 9 p.m., moving NBC into the lead. CBS' "Big Brother" and FOX's "House" tied for second at 5.4/9, with CBS drawing more viewers. ABC dipped to 2.5/4 with "i-Caught." The CW went with a "Beauty and the Geek" repeat.
CBS regained the top spot at 10 p.m. with "NCIS," 5.3/9. A "Law & Order: SVU" rerun on NBC drew a 4.5/8, while "Primetime: Crime" posted a 4.0/7 for ABC.
