CBS Has Best 'Numb3rs' Friday
'Dateline,' 'L&O' lead NBC to 18-49 win
CBS held off NBC to take the overall ratings crown Friday night, but the two networks switched places in the all-important 18-49 demographic.
CBS averaged a 6.8 rating/12 share in primetime, beating out NBC's 6.4/12. ABC finished third at 4.6/8. The CW's 2.5/4 edged FOX's 2.4/4 for fourth.
NBC snagged the No. 1 spot among adults 18-49 with a 3.0 rating. CBS was a close second at 2.8. ABC, 2.2, came in third, followed by The CW, 1.5, and FOX, 1.2.
"Deal or No Deal," 6.6/13, put NBC on top at 8 p.m. CBS' "Ghost Whisperer" took second with a 6.2/12. A repeat of "Grey's Anatomy," 4.1/8, gave ABC third. The first hour of "Friday Night Smackdown!" on The CW scored a 2.3/4, topping a "Justice" rerun on FOX.
CBS moved to the front at 9 p.m. with "Close to Home," 7.3/13. NBC fell one spot to second with "Dateline," 6.0/11. "Men in Trees" kept ABC in third with a 4.7/8. The finale of FOX's "Celebrity Duets" (won by Alfonso Ribeiro) averaged 2.7/5, tying for fourth with "Smackdown!"
"Numb3rs" closed the night for CBS with a 7.2/13 at 10 p.m. NBC's "Law & Order" posted a 6.8/12, and ABC's "20/20" was third at 5.0/9.
