Ratings: Friday 'Numb3rs' Still Point to CBS
Network survives second week slide of 'The Ex List'
Fast National ratings for Friday, Oct. 10, 2008.Despite another ratings dip for freshman drama "The Ex List," CBS comfortable won Friday night in all key measures.
Overall, CBS averaged a 5.1 rating/9 share, well in front of the 3.8/7 for second place ABC and the 3.2/6 tie between FOX and NBC. The CW's 1.2/2 trailed.
CBS also won among adults 18-49, doing a 2.2 rating in the key demographic. ABC's 1.8 rating was second, while FOX was up to third with a 1.4 rating. NBC's 1.3 demo rating held off the 0.7 rating for The CW, which is probably missing the Friday ratings wrestling used to reliably provide.
At 8 p.m. CBS got a 6.1/11 from "Ghost Whisperer," the night's highest rated single show. FOX's "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader" was second with a 3.8/7. ABC's "Wife Swap" had a 2.9/5, beating "America's Toughest Jobs" on NBC. The CW's "Everybody Hates Chris" and "The Game" had a 1.2/2 for fifth on the hour.
NBC briefly grabbed first in the 9 p.m. hour with a 4.0/7 for "Deal or No Deal." CBS' "The Ex List" was second overall with a 3.9/7 and actually narrowly won the 18-49 demo for the hour. ABC's "Supernanny" was third on the hour, nipping the 3.1/5 for FOX's "Don't Forget the Lyrics." The CW's repeat of "America's Next Top Model" was fifth.
CBS bounced back into first at 10 p.m. with a 5.3/10 for "Numb3rs." ABC's "20/20" was second with a 5.0/7. On NBC, "Life" had a 3.1/6 for third.
