ABC Dances Away with Tuesday Title
Finale scores big, 'Charlie Brown' also solid
Fast National ratings for Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007"Dancing with the Stars" earned some of its best-ever ratings Tuesday, leading ABC to a big Nielsen win.
ABC averaged a 13.4 rating/20 share for the night, piling up an 8 million-viewer lead over second-place FOX, 8.0/12. CBS finished third at 7.2/11. NBC, 5.9/9, came in fourth, and The CW was well off the pace at 1.6/2.
The adults 18-49 race was much closer, with ABC's 5.8 rating coming out on top. FOX took second in the key ad demographic with a 5.2. NBC's 3.6 was good for third, followed by CBS, 2.6, and The CW, 1.1.
CBS led at 8 p.m. as "NCIS" delivered a 10.8/16. The annual showing of "A Charlie Brown Christmas" on ABC scored a healthy 7.8/12 for second. "Bones," 5.9/9, put FOX in third, ahead of "The Biggest Loser" on NBC. The CW got a 1.7/3 from "Beauty and the Geek."
"Dancing with the Stars" posted a 15.7/23 at 9 p.m., propelling ABC into the lead. "House" moved FOX up to second with a 10.2/15. "The Unit" drew a 6.6/10 for CBS, while "The Biggest Loser," 4.8/7, remained in fourth. The CW's "Reaper" fell a little from its lead-in.
At 10 p.m., the "Dancing" finale soared to 16.8/26, doubling up on "Law & Order: SVU," which finished second for NBC at 8.2/13. "Cane" posted a 4.3/6 for CBS.
