TV Ratings: CBS Laughs It Up Monday
All four of the network's comedies hit season highs
Fast National ratings for Monday, Dec. 15, 2008CBS' comedy block racked up more strong ratings Monday, with all four shows setting season-high numbers.
For the night, CBS averaged an 8.3 rating/13 share, more than doubling the total audience for second-place NBC, 4.0/6. FOX took third with a 3.4/5. ABC, 3.1/5, finished fourth, and The CW trailed with a 1.0/1.
CBS also dominated the adults 18-49 demographic with a 4.3 rating. NBC took second at 2.6. FOX's 2.1 was good enough for third, followed by FOX, 1.5, and The CW, 0.6.
"The Big Bang Theory," 6.8/11, and "How I Met Your Mother," 6.8/10, put CBS on top at 8 p.m. NBC's "Chuck," 4.7/7, edged the ABC special "I Want a Dog for Christmas, Charlie Brown," 4.4/7, for second. "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" earned a 3.2/5 for FOX. The CW went with a "Gossip Girl" rerun.
CBS increased its lead at 9 p.m. with "Two and a Half Men" -- the night's most-watched show at 10.7/16 -- and "Worst Week," 7.4/11. The conclusion of "Heroes'" fall story arc held steady at 4.7/7 for NBC. FOX moved into third with "Prison Break," 3.5/5, while ABC dipped to fourth with the "20/20" special "Drama High." A "One Tree Hill" repeat finished the night for The CW.
At 10 p.m., "CSI: Miami" scored a 9.2/15 for CBS, leaving both NBC's "My Own Worst Enemy," 2.6/4, and the second hour of "Drama High" (2.2/4) on ABC in the dust.
