TV ratings: 'Talent' strong, CBS stronger Tuesday
Drama reruns, '48 Hours' outdraw NBC's lineup
Fast National ratings for Tuesday, June 30, 2009"America's Got Talent" had another good outing Tuesday, but the consistency of CBS' lineup led the Eye to a ratings win.
CBS drew 9.7 million viewers and a 6.3 rating/11 share in households for the night. NBC was right behind with just under 9.5 million viewers and a 5.8/10. There was a big drop from there to third-place ABC, 2.3/4. FOX came in fourth with a 1.8/3, and The CW trailed at 0.6/1.
NBC did lead among adults 18-49 with a 2.6 rating. CBS finished second in the demographic wit a 2.0. FOX and ABC tied for third at 1.0, and The CW posted a puny 0.3.
An "NCIS" rerun scored a healthy 6.7/12 for CBS at 8 o'clock. A rerun of "America's Got Talent," 5.2/10, put NBC in second. "The Superstars" delivered a 2.7/5 for ABC, a point better than a showing of "Legally Blonde" (1.7/3) on FOX. The CW aired a "90210" repeat.
A new hour of "America's Got Talent," 7.5/13, drew the night's biggest audience at 9 p.m. "The Mentalist," 6.6/11, was second for CBS. FOX's movie moved up to third, while "The Superstars" and "Better Off Ted" combined for a 1.7/3 on ABC. The CW's "Hitched or Ditched" was mostly ditched with a 0.7/1.
CBS regained the lead at 10 thanks to a "48 Hours" special on Michael Jackson (5.5/10). NBC got a 4.7/8 from "Law & Order: SVU," while "Primetime: Family Secrets" scored a 2.5/4 for ABC.
