ABC Finally Plays 'Notes'
Comedy to debut in April; 'Traveler' set for summer
The comedy will, though, finally take its place on the network's schedule next month. "Notes" is set to debut at 9:30 p.m. ET Wednesday, April 11, sliding into the spot currently occupied by "In Case of Emergency" (which will have ended its season by then).
ABC has also set a piece of its summer lineup, which includes another scripted series originally slated for an earlier premiere. The drama "Traveler" will open on Wednesday, May 30, a few days after the official end of the 2006-07 season.
It will be joined by a new unscripted series, "The Next Best Thing: Who is the Greatest Celebrity Impersonator?," which will have a two-hour debut on May 30. The second season of "American Inventor" will follow a week later, at 9 p.m. June 6.
"Notes From the Underbelly" follows the lives of a young married couple, Lauren (Jennifer Westfeldt, "Kissing Jessica Stein") and Andrew (Peter Cambor) who just found out she's pregnant. Advice comes at them from all sides, including from Lauren's acerbic single friend Cooper (Rachael Harris, "The Daily Show") and the deliriously happy parents-to-be Julie (Melanie Paxson) and Eric (Sunkrish Bala).
"Traveler," which was initially set to be a midseason show, centers on two friends (Logan Marshall-Green, "The O.C.," and Matthew Bomer, "Flightplan") who are framed for a terrorist bombing -- possibly by their buddy Will Traveler (Aaron Stanford, "X-Men"). They go underground, trying to clear their names while figuring out how Will is involved.
Steven Culp ("Desperate Housewives"), Viola Davis (CBS' "Jesse Stone" movies) and William Sadler ("Wonderfalls") also star.
