Sasha Alexander will star in a sitcom pilot

Several years after making a tragic exit from "NCIS," Sasha Alexander is looking to return to CBS.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Alexander has booked a lead role in the network's multi-camera comedy series "The Karenskys."

Produced by Linwood Boomer ("Malcolm in the Middle") with BermanBraun and UMS, "The Karenskys" focuses on a young woman who returns to her home town and reunites with her wacky family when her husband's job forces her to relocate.

The trade paper says that Tinsley Grimes has also been cast in the pilot.

Probably best known from her two-season run as Caitlin Todd on "NCIS," Alexander's other series credits include "Wasteland" and "Dawson's Creek." Alexander will be seen in the big screen in the upcoming "Yes Man" and "He's Just Not That Into You."
