Stiller, Taylor Team for CBS Pilot
Actress will star in comedy based on her life
LOS ANGELES --Stiller has signed on to direct the pilot and will serve as an executive producer. Should the show land a spot on CBS' schedule, he would also have a recurring part in front the camera, the showbiz trade papers report.
The show is loosely based on Taylor's life. She'll play an actress who has made it in Hollywood and is married to a movie star but still has ties to her hometown (Taylor grew up in Allentown, Pa.), mostly in the form of relatives who are very much involved in her life.
Ajay Saghal, who penned the comedy pilot "The Angriest Man in Suburbia" this past pilot season, will write the script. He'll also serve as an executive producer alongside Stiller.
Taylor, whose big break came when she was cast as Marcia in "The Brady Bunch Movie," starred in the ABC pilot "52 Fights" this spring and is currently at work on the romantic comedy "License to Wed," due for release next year. Her other credits include "Dodgeball," "The Wedding Singer" and guest spots on "Arrested Development" and "My Name Is Earl."
For Stiller, the pilot will be his first behind-the-camera work in television since the legendary failed pilot "Heat Vision and Jack" in 1999. He'll next be seen in "Night at the Museum," a comedy scheduled to hit theaters in December.
