Ex-'Melrose Place' Actress Joins Teen Pregnancy Drama
Josie Bissett will play alongside John Schneider, Molly Ringwald
Former " Melrose Place" co-star Josie Bisset and Mark Derwin have joined the cast of ABC Family's as-yet untitled drama from "7th Heaven" creator Brenda Hampton, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The show centers on a pregnant teen (Shailene Woodley) and how this unexpected development affects friends and family. Bisset will play the wife of John Schneider's character, Dr. Marshall Johnson, while Derwin will play the husband of Molly Ringwald's character, the teen's mother.
So far, the network is planning on six episodes of the hourlong drama.
Derwin appeared on "Life With Bonnie," "Boston Legal," "Curb Your Enthusiasm" and "Chuck."
Bisset played Jane Andrews on "Melrose Place." Her TV roles since then include a guest spot for "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" and the TV movies "I Do, They Don't" and "Obituary."
In other cable casting news, "My Wife and Kids" series regular Brooklyn Sudano has been cast in The Sci Fi Channel's two-hour pilot "Revolution." Set in a 22nd Earth Colony outpost, "Revolution" follows the colonists' growing unrest. Sudano will play the love interest Roxanne opposite Steve Sandvoss' character Chris Hart.
