'Surreal Life' Star Weds Fifth Husband
Despite Flavor Flav's best efforts, Brigitte Nielsen officially married Mattia Dessi
The "Surreal Life" star married her fifth husband, Mattia Dessi, on Saturday, July 8 in Malta, reports People magazine.
The nuptials were a long time in coming ever since their first wedding ceremony 17 months ago, which wasn't legal since she still hadn't finished divorcing her fourth husband, former racecar driver Raoul Meyer.
Instead, Nielsen's manager says that the previous ceremony that took place in the Dominican Republic was "more like an official engagement."
Nielsen, 42, met former Italian model Dessi, 28, when they met in a restaurant in Lugano in April 2004.
Before Dessi, Nielsen was married to and subsequently divorced from Danish musician Kasper Winding, "Rocky" star Sylvester Stallone, photographer/director Sebastian Copeland and Meyer.
She's had numerous other engagements and romances as well, including a much-publicized relationship with her fellow "Surreal Life" inmate, rap star Flavor Flav. Their romance was documented on VH1's "Strange Love," in which Flav tried to win her back while she was engaged to Dessi. Judging by Nielsen's recent marriage and Flav's spinoff dating show "Flavor of Love," it didn't work out.
On the big screen, Nielsen has appeared in "Red Sonja," "Rocky IV," "Cobra" and "Beverly Hills Cop II."
