CBS Launches Fall Premieres with Reality
Only 'Viva Laughlin' will be held back to October
Both the new reality offering "Kid Nation" and the latest installment of the long-running "Survivor" franchise will start their seasons a bit ahead of the rest of CBS' pack. "Kid Nation," which features a group of children forming an ideal society in an abandoned ghost town, goes out on Wednesday, September 19 at 8 p.m., with the first episode of "Survivor: China" premiering in the same slot the next night.
CBS has described its fall schedule as "an evolution not a revolution" and the network is mostly remaining true to traditional premiere week structure. Between Sunday, Sept. 23 and Saturday, Sept. 29 all of CBS' new and returning fall shows.
The only exception is "Viva Laughlin," which will have a special preview post-"CSI" on Thursday, Oct. 18, before moving to its regular Sunday night 8 p.m. home on Oct. 21. CBS attributes the delay to early NFL-season double-headers.
