He's been married for about 10 years

"Everybody Hates Chris" narrator and inspiration Chris Rock isn't liking married life too much these days.

The comedian has begun divorce proceedings against wife Malaak Compton-Rock by hiring a high-powered attorney, reports TMZ.com.

The couple wed in November 1996 and has two daughters: Lola, 4, and Zahra, 2. Malaak-Rock founded the non-profit salon StyleWorks, which provides full services free of charge to women who are getting their careers started after leaving welfare behind.

When contacted, Rock's rep would only tell TMZ, "I cannot comment at this time."

Rock, 41, is the grown-up narrator for the CW sitcom "Everybody Hates Chris." The comedian's recent film credits include "Head of State," "The Longest Yard," "Madagascar" and the upcoming comedy "I Think I Love My Wife" in the capacity of writer and director.
