Pilots: 'Buffy,' '24' actor goes 'Back' to CBS
D.B. Woodside joins Skeet Ulrich in a drama pilot
"Buffy the Vampire Slayer" principal and "24" president D.B. Woodside has been cast opposite Skeet Ulrich in the drama pilot "Back," according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The story revolves around a man (Ulrich) who was reported missing after 9/11. He's returned home eight years later to some confused folks, including his friends and family. Naturally, this will require some mixed emotions and sorting out, so a psychiatrist (Woodside) is called in.
Also on the network, Jon Foster has been cast as the younger man whom Jenna Elfman's character sleeps with to "Accidentally on Purpose" (the title of the show) get pregnant. Foster also joins "Ugly Betty's" Ashley Jensen, who has been cast.
Now that Showtime's "The L Word" has shut its doors, Katherine Moennig is staying in the CBS family to play a self-destructive woman in the lung/heart transplant fellowship program, while Daniel Henney will play a well-to-do kidney/liver/pancreas transplant specialist. They join "Moonlight's" Alex O'Loughlin on the show that revolves around organ transplants told from three points of view: the doctors, the donors and the recipients.
Finally, "Miami Trauma" has added Elisabeth Harnois as a first-year trauma resident, joining the Jeremy Northam and Richard Coyle who will portray doctors on the ensemble medical drama.
