British actors find love stateside

Dougray Scott, Susan's latest love interest on "Desperate Housewives," has found love with Claire Forlani.

The Scottish actor proposed to and was accepted by the "Mallrats" actress last month in Los Angeles, reports People. Scott presented Forlani with a ring he designed himself.

"It was very romantic," says Scott. "I feel so lucky to have met her. She's an amazing actress and human being. I'm very happy."

The two met about 10 months ago and have been spotted together at the Chateau Marmont and holding hands on the lot where he shoots "Housewives."

Scott, 40, began his stint as Ian Kavanaugh on the Sunday night ABC soap this season. He's also known for the short-lived "Heist" and big-screen credits such as "Ever After," "Mission: Impossible II" and "Dark Water."

Forlani, 35, is a British actress who has a recurring role on "CSI: New York." She's mainly known for her films "Mallrats," "Meet Joe Black" and "Boys and Girls."
