Actress is due at the end of the year
The former "Sopranos" actress only confirmed that she and boyfriend Shooter Jennings were expecting a child after the news was leaked from an employee at Veronique Maternity to the New York Post.
"The only reason we're announcing the news is because the very rude and condescending salespeople at Veronique Maternity on Madison Avenue decided to leak this to the press," Matteo's rep tells Usmagazine. "So please beware if you're trying to keep your happy secret under wraps."
"Shop at Pea in the Pod," the actress adds. "The salespeople are lovely and helpful and know how to keep exciting news to themselves."
De Matteo, 35, and Jennings, 27, have been dating for six years. Jennings is a musician and son of the late country star Waylon Jennings. The baby is due in late 2007.
De Matteo is best recognized as Adriana La Cerva from HBO's "The Sopranos." She also played the title character's sister, Gina Tribbiani, on NBC's "Joey."
